British Columbia Guild of English Handbell Ringers

Spring Ring

In October 2011, the board of BCGEHR voted to make Spring Ring a biennial event, and that quality regional workshops be held in the alternate years. The next Spring Ring will be held in 2013 in Kamloops. Details will be posted as soon as they are available.

“Spring Ring” is BCGEHR’s provincial event, a two-day festival whose purpose is to bring bell ringers and choirs from all parts of British Columbia together; to develop an inter-generational relationship among ringers; and to stimulate and introduce new ringing skills and appreciation of music through the art of handbell ringing.

Spring Ring rotates between the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and the BC Interior.
Please note that BCGEHR is currently undergoing a trial of a new model for Spring Ring, that of a bi-annual provincial festival with regional workshops in the alternate year.

There was no Spring Ring in 2010, but instead regional events in Vancouver (January 24, 2010), Nanaimo (March 20, 2010) and Penticton (April 17, 2010) were held. A final decision whether to make this model permanent or not will be made later in 2011.
